Gearing Up for a Girls Night in Austin

Places to Go with Your Friends

Whether they are married or single, have children or not, or are working or a stay at home mom, every girl needs a little time with her girlfriends every now and then. Now that you know you want to have a girls night out you may be wondering what to do? Here are a couple of suggestions for your girls night if you live in the Austin area.

If you want a relaxed atmosphere with your friends you may want to look into Halcyon Coffee Bar located near downtown Austin. A coffee house by day, this place becomes a bar and lounge at night that serves appetizers and cocktails for the dinner crowd. The appetizers range in prices from &7.50-$10.00 depending on what you and your friends decide you want to eat. Cocktails tend to run in the same price range with interesting items you can try such as a Raspberry Chocolate Shake. If you're just feeling dessert they have a decent sized menu for that too, prices ranging from $4.00-$9.00. I would think this is a good place for a girls night if the girls are more of an older crowd and they're over the clubbing scene. Plus you can dress casually as it is a lounge so there should be no strict dress code. Plus you can actually have a chance to talk to your friends in a nice atmosphere instead of having to yell over thumping club music.

However if you are still of the age where you like the club scene then there is the always ever-popular Grahams Central Station located in Pflugerville off of IH-35. What's great about this club is that it is actually six clubs in one location so you have many different options to choose from. There is a cover charge to this play but it is usually under $10.00 and if you think about it, it's not that high of a price to pay considering the variety you get. And of course like most clubs there are specials where you can get your admission price discounted or even drinks just check the website or even join the mailing list to find out when they are. Since it is a club, appropriate attire is required so wear something nice; no jeans with holes in them or anything like that. But do keep in mind that you will be dancing so be nice but comfortable.

For a completely different take on a girls night you could also try Ceramics and More, located in downtown Pflugerville. You have to check websites for specific days where the store will have a ladies night or you can reserve one on your own. What is nice about this is you can bring your own drinks when you make reservations or they have some that they can provide (it is only soda though) and you can paint and talk and a week later you can go pick up your project that you did and take it home. I like this because it gives you and your friends a chance to test your creativity and it is a nice way to spend some time out of the house. Plus who knows; you may find a new hobby and a new way to get creative and thoughtful (and not too expensive) gifts. Prices vary depending on if you have a special party or if you and your girls just decide to go in one night (in that case you pay for the piece you painted). I would recommend wearing older clothes as you will be painting and it could get messy.

There are some ideas for your girls night out. Enjoy!!
