The first thing you need to know is this is going to be a test. So make sure you feel prepared before hand. There are plenty of ways to practice for this exam, so don't hesitate to search them up. Most of them are free to try! The test features the following subjects: language arts and writing, reading, social studies, science, and of course math. These are the basic subjects for the high school curriculum.
You may ask yourself if you are eligible for taking the GED test. In this case you need to check with your local GED center to see their regulations. Each state has different rules and guidelines they go by. Some states require you to be a certain age before you can qualify and etc.
Now that's out of the way, you may ask yourself how much money are you going to be out for this test? Once again, you need to check within your GED center in your town. They will have all of the payment information for you.
Once you feel your ready, you might wonder how long this test will take? It really just depends on how far you went in high school. Some people will take longer than others naturally. It is recommended that you study for two hours for five days to make a decent score.
Now, once this is done, you might wonder what score you need to pass? This really depends on the state you live in. Each state requires a different score in order to pass the GED exam. So make sure you do your best! The higher score you get the better!
Your test is over! Now what? Some centers allow you to know your score right away, and others let you know by mail. If this is the case, it will take several weeks for you to know your score. Wait patently and know you already achieved a great goal by taking the step of bettering yourself and your education.
You education is the most important part of your life. Make sure your on the right track by doing everything possible to better yourself. Its a tough world out there, and without the correct education to guide you along the way, its even more tough. Study hard, do your research, and make sure to take those practice exams! Good luck!
