Geejam is a very small resort with only seven double rooms. There are three cabins, a suite, and a three bedroom villa with a private pool. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated with light, airy colors. Each one provides a lot of privacy and you usually feel like you are the only visitors there. The buildings are surrounded by the plants of the jungle. The property extends right down to the beach so it is only a short walk away. There is even a waterfall in the center of the land.
The service at the hotel is great. The staff is knowledgeable and quick to respond to your needs. You are given a cell phone when you check in so you can communicate easily with the staff without them having to hover over you all the time. For no extra charge, a car will bring you to San San Beach or Frenchman's cove.
When you are picked up from the airport in Kingston you can choose to take a two hour drive through the jungle or a three hour drive along the coast to reach Geejam.
There are many secluded beach options in the area. Frenchman's Cove and Blue Lagoon are places where underground freshwater springs meet and mix with the ocean. There are usually very few people here due to their distance from the larger, more popular beaches so they are very relaxing and romantic. If you're looking for a slightly more populated beach, Winnifred Beach is located nearby as well and is known as a place where many Rastafarians hang out.
A neat feature of Geejam is their professional recording studio. It will give you a chance to record your singing or instrument playing on high quality equipment so you can sound your best.
The onsite restaurant, called Bushbar, has delicious fine dining of traditional Jamaican food. The chefs were very accommodating and were willing to modify a meal around my companions eating habits so that he could enjoy it as well. Food can also be served in your room if you prefer to eat in the privacy of your balcony.
Overall, I would recommend Geejam to anyone who is looking for a luxurious beach location.
