Gems of Disappointments

Optimism Amid Trials is an Armor

Adianez
Just like a cornered cat, a person driven deep into despair will find whatever means at hand to be able to survive. Scratch and bite all that seems a threat and stick to those who seem to help. But how long can a person remain sane when challenged with the basic necessities of life in an extended period of time? How long can we scratch and bite as individuals? Food, clothing and shelter defines survival, so how long can we hold on to that thin thread of hope without being able to meet these needs everyday?

Scattered in the city are a lot people in desperate need of help. But I have read in various books about people who had been through all vices due to being poor and unmotivated at the start just to end up becoming a millionaire later on. Wow! And quite similarly, there are a handful of prominent figures or celebrities that were traumatized when they were still young and now they matured to become the inspiration of everyone. So what is it that turn the tables around for these chosen few?

These people share their secrets. And when you got time to listen to these people you will soon realize that they have one message; they did not give up, they continued to believe in life and hope that there is a brighter tomorrow. They begin to work harder, they put more effort, they are discovered and they were given a break. The universe properly calculated the exact moment when these individuals would receive their most awaited break and become the success that they are.

Humor is one factor common to all of them when you hear them tell their story in public. Noticeably, all of them relate their life in such a way that we will see the gems in every painful event. May it be pure patience or perseverance coupled with determination or may it be an inspiration from a loved one or a painful truth they want to prove wrong...anything...something...just to keep their optimism burning strong. It is a sad fact that no one can give you optimism. It is either you have it or you do not have it. Once we accept the challenge of believing, we begin to see a light for what seems to be an eternally darkened life. We begin to hope and we desire to achieve things that seems impossible at first thought. We begin to become deaf to all discouragements. We simply keep on dreaming and not swaying our eyes from our goal. Just like wearing an armor we know that we are hit by something sharp but we do not feel it. We must find that armor within us to be able to see the gems that comes with every disappointments in our life. The key is not to be sucked deep into the victim part of the story but to focus on how to become the hero in the story of our life.
