General David Petraeus Warns Against Troop Removal

Mrs P
General David Petraeus is against troop removal from Iraq. He says that removing too many troops too quickly can and will worsen the situation over in Iraq and I have to say that I agree with him.

There are many things that's happening over in Iraq that we have no idea about. If you haven't been there to actually experience what's happening then you shouldn't just jump into conclusion and decide to pull out the troops that quickly. It is basically leaving Iraq and its citizens helpless. I believe that training them and getting them ready is our responsibility since we are the ones who attacked their country.

I actually have spoken to my husband who is currently on his fourth deployment to Iraq regarding this issue, and he agrees with General David Petraeus. He told me that it isn't a great idea to leave the Iraqis with not enough help since they aren't ready to face the insurgents alone.

They are in need of our assistance and that we should stay and train them until they are ready to stand on their own feet. He also told me that they are actually improving with the help of our own military. Marines and soldiers are training these Iraqis and it is just fair that we stay there and continue to help them until they are fully ready to face those insurgents on their own. He said that even though it is hard to be away from his family and friends, he said that his job is important to him and it is his job to train these Iraqis.

There will always be those who will oppose General David Petraeus's stance on this issue. He will and have had people criticize his stance. There are many people who are against this war and have been wanting for our troops to come home but leaving Iraq just like that will not solve the problem. We should look at this from every angle. We can't just say that we have to bring the troops home because we are against the war. We have to consider the citizens of Iraq as well. They are going through much more than we are. We can't just leave their country and not help them rebuild it.

And please pass to your husband MY, and the best wishes of most Americans. We love him and all his comrades for what they do for us, despite what the hateful radicals would have you believe.

Notice how when Obama is out campaigning he claims he will get us out of Iraq on day one (of his disastrous potential presidency), yet when he's questioning Petraeus he acknowledges we will be there for years? He tells the radicals what they want to hear, but he knows the truth - we ain't going nowhere anytime soon. At least McCain and his integrity are above reproach. Obama is a political machine, no different than any other professional politician, yet when ya say that his radical supporters get apoplectic. "No" they scream "he's different - he's about hope and change!" Makes me wanna wretch!
