Not in my wildest dreams would I spend that much on appliances, I don't even cook! Anyway, my husband and I went to PC Richards even though I am not a fan of this store. We had to go that store because they had a contract with the builders of our new home. When we walked in we knew we wanted stainless steel. We went right to the stainless steel section and fell in love with the General Electric stove. I was so excited that our new house had gas and not electric. I hated my electric stove in my old house.
We ended up picking the GR profile series for all of our appliances. We bought the stove, the dishwasher, the microwave, the refrigerator, and the wine cooler. All of them were in stainless steel which we loved. We couldn't get our washer and dryer though in the profile. But that's OK. We have been in our new house for two years this March and I have to say I have not had one problem with any of my GE Profile appliances. I absolutely love them and highly recommend them.
The stove has 4 burners with an an extra middle burner for either a griddle or two more burners. So it is a total of 6 burners. When my mother comes up to visit from Florida she loves to make pancakes on my griddle. She can't say enough good things about it. She will come up with any excuse to use the griddle. The griddle can't go in the dishwasher but you would be amazed how easy it cleans in the sink.
Just a little soap and water don't use anything abrasive to scratch it though. My favorite feature on the stove is the warming drawer. When my husband picks up dinner on the way home from work I put the warming drawer on. We put the food in there until we are ready to eat it. It keeps it nice and hot you would be surprised. The stove comes with a timer which I find myself using all of the time. It is a self cleaning oven as well. Very simple to use especially for someone like me.
The dishwasher probably gets the most use. I run it every other night because of my son's bottles. My favorite feature on this appliance is the delayed start. I could fill the dishwasher and add soap and set it to go off in 1 - 9 hours. This is a great feature because you don't always want to run the dishwasher right away and then in the morning you realized you forget to start it before you went to bed. Sometimes when I get up in the middle of the night I forget it is on and it scares me when I come into the kitchen! It is user friendly and does a great job washing the dishes. I am not known to rinse the dishes before loading them and they still come out clean. There are many different options ranging from China to Sanitizing to Pots and Pans. You choose whatever fits your needs. I usually use the Sanitizing Option for my son's bottles.
The refrigerator is also great. Plenty of room to pack the food in. The freezer comes with an ice dispenser where you can choose from crushed ice, cubed ice, or water. It had a light too. The ice maker is a great feature. I used to hate making the ice using the ice cube trays. What a pain in the neck that was. The fridge comes with a crisping drawer for your produce. It has plenty of shelves for your condiments too.
The microwave also gets tons of use. Also user friendly. It is a space-maker so it fits under my cabinets. It has an inside vent, fan and a light. It also has a timer if I need. Simple to clean. One time I had a cleaning service come and they scratched the inside of the door. I called GE and they sent me a replacement part. Great customer service department too.
My last GE Profile appliance is the wine cooler. We really don't use this too much. But it does come with a light and a lock. The lock is a great feature to keep your little one from getting to the wine bottles. You can change the temperature depending on what you are keeping chilled in the cooler.
Overall I would highly recommend the GE Profile appliances. They are simple to clean too. You just use the stainless steel wipes and don't even bother with the cloths and liquids. In my opinion you won't be disappointed. I wasn't. Oh I forgot to mention all of these appliances cost us less than $6000. Nice!
