General Hospital for the Week of May 14, 2007

This week on General Hospital Samantha McCall finds out that her trusted, most honest boyfriend, Jason Morgan, has been lying to her for months. Well hallelujah! Now that she has found out, we can only hope that she will run and blab the secret out to anyone who wants to listen. Unfortunately, this is a soap opera and that is not to happen.

If you are just catching back up on General Hospital, Elizabeth Spencer had a night of passion with her long time "friend," Jason Morgan, and wound up pregnant due to some faulty condoms manufactured by the (resourceful) Quartermain's. Imagine how many others wound up preggers after that little company mishap. Elizabeth wanted to tell Lucky Spencer, her drug addicted husband, but decided it was better that she did not because he decided to check himself into a drug rehabilitation clinic after learning that Elizabeth was carrying "his" baby. She thought that if she relieved the truth it would send him reeling and right back on the drugs. Elizabeth revealed the truth to Jason after he swooped in and rescued her during the Metro Court explosion months back.

Meanwhile, Sam learns that she can't have any babies because of being shot by Manny. Both she and Jason agree that it is for the best because his life is too dangerous for children, never mind that he is always around Michael and Morgan, Sonny's kids. Well, this week Samantha found out that the baby boy Elizabeth gave birth to is actually Jason's. She did not take it too well. Poor girl went straight to a bar and started liquoring it up. I would think that after the whole getting drunk and sleeping with her step-daddy/Jason's mortal enemy episode, she would know better than to drown her problems in a bottle but it seems not.

Amelia calls Jason to take Sam home because she is too drunk to get there on her own and she starts going off about trusting him and talking about how she can't have babies. Truth be told, the only good about Sam finding out about Little Stone Cold (to quote Spinilli) is that maybe we are now one step closer to the truth finally coming out to everyone, even though by the end of the week, Sam is still mum about finding out the truth, even with Amelia feeding into her insecurities. That Amelia is definitely a slick one. By weeks end, she has Sam in such a state that the girl literally doesn't know what to do with herself. In between running a show and driving Sam crazy, Ameilia still finds time to steal in quickies with Sonny.

The other major General Hospital Happening this week is the revelation to Carly Corinthos Spencer Jax (or whatever she is calling herself these days) that James Craig is really Jerry Jax, the mischievous turned deadly, evil brother of her new husband Jasper Jax. The loyalty that Jax shows to his brother is touching if not a little annoying. I can't really blame Jax for not wanting to accept the things that his brother did while holding people hostage in the Metro Court then subsequently blowing it up. In my humble opinion, this is the catalyst that sparks the end for Jax and Carly. Although I loved how Carly had his back and waited to talk to him before telling Jason, I can't help but feel as though this will not end well for the newlyweds.

Now as far as others are concerned, there really is nothing new. Luke and Scotty Baldwin are still battling over a vegetative Laura with Tracy Quartermain in the middle. The truth about Allen's will is still hidden; therefore, he is still haunting Tracy. Sky now realizes the swine that her husband, Lorenzo Alcazar, is now that he found out about her plotting against him with Ric and decided to take Lila Rae away from her. That is cruel. She is trying to convince him that she had a lapse in judgment. Sky had a lapse in judgment after she had the baby and attached herself to Lorenzo's left hip. Had she maintained her common sense, she would be living with the Qautermains, raising her daughter with limited visits from Lorenzo.

Nicholas, Emily, Robin, and Patrick are still playing cat and mouse with Mr. Craig/Jerry/Bronson. Just when they thought they escaped Craig's hold by duplicating the counter agent and giving it to Nicholas, Emily gets herself embroiled even further by signing bank documents that incriminate her in treason. Craig sure knows how to stay one step ahead of his opponents, all the while taking time out to slowly woo Alexis.

So the big questions for next week are:

  1. Will she or won't she spill the beans about the baby
  2. Is Sky going to get busted for warning Jason about Lorenzo's plot to kill him and Sonny
  3. For the love of all that is good, will Lucky Spencer ever get a clue that the baby he is growing to love is in fact Jason Morgan's
  4. Can Kate stop squinting her eyes long enough to realize that you can't go back to the past so Sonny should be off limits?
