There are many advantages to having a swimming pool heater. Some people do not actually have swimming pool heaters in their pool because they just use their pool for the warmer weather, but if you want to get the most out of your swimming pool all year round or at least into the colder months of the year, a swimming pool heater might be to your advantage.

The benefits of having a swimming pool heater is that you can virtually adjust the temperature of your pool to just about any temperature that you would like, no matter how big or small your pool is. The normal water temperature that you will want your water set for is around eighty degrees. This is the best temperature for just about any pool. You do not always have to use your swimming pool heater because it is only needed for cold nights and later months in the seasons which can also reduce the cost of your electricity bill.

Depending where you live will determine if you need a pool heater or not. If you have a pool without a heater, you know that you have to rely on the sun to heat your pool. If you live somewhere in the northern hemisphere, you can actually double your swimming pool season. In places like Arizona, you can actually triple your swimming pool season.

If you want to save additionall money on your pool, there are other things that you can do, in regards to heating. If you get a water heater and do not want to heat your pool all year round or have it running constantly, you can invest in a pool cover that is well insulated to help keep the warmth in. This will save you energy and money in the long run, for when you are not using your pool. You can heat your pool and not have to worry about any loss of heat.

There are many types of heaters that you can buy, well actually there is only three that I am aware of. The three types of heaters are gas heaters, oil heaters and electric heaters. The most expensive types of heaters are the electric heaters. These will run up your power bill very fast. The cheapest kind and the most common are the gas heaters. Finally, there are the oil heaters which can be used in places where there is little to no access to gas and if you want to save on electricity.

There is one more type of heater that you can invest in and that is the solar power swimming pool heater. They will cost you little to nothing to maintain, and will heat your pool all year round. The only downside is that they are very costly to purchase.
