The price of medicine in the United States is becoming astronomical. What can America do about this? Shop over the border is an option, drug or medicine prices in both Canada and Mexico are a lot cheaper. Another alternative would be generic drugs or medicine. Are there drawbacks to these alternatives, maybe and maybe not. What alternative is better.

America as a whole is faced with astronomical health care costs. Most insurance companies choose generic drugs or medicines for you. If you do not have insurance generic drugs and medicines can save you a lot of money. In a financial aspect yes generic drugs and medicines are a smart choice. I myself would buy and use them.

Do generic drugs and medicines perform the same? As long as there is no allergic reactions most generic drugs and medicines work the same. If these medicines have the same results why wouldn't you choose them. A lot of generic drugs and medicines hae almost all of the same ingredients in them. If they are that close to name brands yes, I would choose generic over name brand drugs and medicines. As an adult and a parent my experiences are that generic medicines work as well as name brands. I have had reactions with both generic and name brands where they would not work.

Medicines and drugs in the united states are tested to higher qualifications then most countries. So are choosing generic drugs over brand names better then crossing the border, Yes. You do not know what you are getting on the other side of the border. So to save money choose generics in the United States over brand name drugs and medicine.
