Last week, an enigmatic graffiti vandal artist bombarded Boerum Hill and Carroll Gardens with a simple "share" on various surfaces. Perhaps this is the inker's new tag. He or she struck most recently on October 2 on Smith Street's Bar Great Harry, President Street, and on the corner of Smith and Douglas.
While the tagger's message may be generous, police in the 76th precinct aren't so thrilled. In fact, they're ready to share the experience of arrest with the culprit. In Brooklyn, the police don't view graffiti as art but more of a destruction of property. As a result, police are ramping up their patrols of the neighborhood.
