The next thing you will do is fill your bowl with veggies. There are many veggies that you can choose from (e.g., water chestnuts, potatoes, eggs, green beans, broccoli, and carrots among others). The next thing you will do is select a sauce to go over your meal. You put your sauce in a separate cup. Sauces include Khan Pao, Mongo BBQ, and Dragon Sauce among others. At this point you will take your mixture to a person who will ask you what type of rice you want with it. You can choose brown rice, fried rice, or udon noodles among others. At this point you will be given a number and they will take what is in your bowl and cook it. If you are not comfortable putting your own bowl together, they have cards that will tell you what to put in your bowl based on your taste preferences.
I normally fill my bowl up with chicken, sliced beef, shrimp, pork, and pepperoni. I will season my meat with garlic. I am not to big on a lot of seasonings. For the third step I put eggs, green beans, and potatoes in my bowl. My favorite sauce is the Mongo BBQ sauce and I always choose fried rice for step five. In my opinion this is a delicious combination.
This review is based on a visit that took place on a Wednesday night around 7:00 PM. The date was 24 November 2010. We did not have to wait at all. We did sit at a table close to the bar and the service was not great. We were there for at least 30 minutes and we did not see our waitress after she brought us our drinks. The atmosphere is very laid back and it is pretty loud. The seating arrangement is not suited for people who do not like close quarters.
On this visit our food was absolutely delicious. The supper price for one bowl will cost you $10. The supper price for unlimited bowls is $13. The total price of our ticket was $27. This included single bowls for two people ($20) plus one soft drink ($2) plust tax ($2.25) and a tip of ($2.75).
This location is very close to everything, literally. The Wolfchase Galleria Mall is just down the road. Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohl's, and Gordman's are all right across the road. Costco is also very close by. Hotels in the immediate vicinity include: Microtel Inn and Suites, Comfort Suites, Quality Suites, Wingate by Wyndham, and Hyatt Place Memphis.
I would definitely recommend this location in Memphis, TN. This was actually our second visit and both visits have been pleasant. it is a lot of fun to put your own bowl together. You can put as much meat as you want or as little meat as you want. If you are starving you can choose to have unlimited bowls. It is a user friendly restaurant. There is no excuse for not getting what you want because you put it all together. If you have never tried it, try it at least once. I will definitely be going back.
