Gentle Rite Aid Kids Sunscreen SPF 30 is Great for Adults Too

When it comes to sunscreen, the most important thing to me is that it has a medium to high SPF factor. That is one of the reasons why I purchased Rite Aid Kids Sunscreen SPF 30. The other reason was the price, just 98 cents.

Rite Aid is all gone in our area, and so I purchased this at a discounted store, so that would be the reason for such a cheap price.

When a product is for kids, I assume it to be gentle, and give extra protection. On the front of the bright green bottle, with a yellow top, it states that it is 'non-irritating'. It also says that it is 'Very water resistant', has 'UVA/UVB protection', and has 'Vitamin E & Aloe'.

After reading this I feel very comfortable with the Rite Aid product. The size of the bottle is 8 fluid ounces (237 ml).

So I put my swimsuit on, and then reach for the Rite Aid Kids Sunscreen SPF30. I press down on the top of the yellow cap, and the side with an arrow, lifts up to reveal a small opening. I then turn the bottle up, and out runs a very thin white liquid. It looks just like milk, and has a similar consistency.

This didn't please me at all. I had the runny liquid in the palm of my hand, running down my fingers, and onto the floor. I quickly rubbed the sunscreen into my arms, and it disappeared almost immediately.

Now I needed to put sunscreen on my neck, back, face, and legs. I very carefully tilted the bottle up, and caught a small amount of the liquid. I then was able to judge how much I wanted to cover the rest of my body.

The sunscreen has a very pleasant, light fragrance to it. I also love the easy way it rubs in.

The first time I used it we were going to a local beach. I walk along the water's edge, and can do this for several miles. I didn't go into the water on that occasion, and I certainly didn't burn from the sun's rays.

The next time I used it was when we were going to an outside picnic. I applied it to my body, and then we went to the picnic. Before we ate, we all went swimming, and I was probably in the longest, around an hour.

I came out and the food was ready so didn't have time to dry off, or check my skin. We ate, and afterwards I looked at my skin, and it felt fine. I was still cool from swimming, and my skin felt moist.

When I came home I checked on the bottle, and it states:
"Helps prevent sunburn.
Retains SPF after 80 minutes of activity in the water."

Is does also state that you should reapply after towel drying, swimming or perspiring. As I hadn't towel dried myself, I really hadn't removed the protection from me.

My bottle is almost empty now, and I only use it when I am going to be in the sun, and also swimming. I love the fact that it retains the SPF even when I have been swimming.

I probably won't be able to purchase it again, but if you have a Rite Aid in your area, then this is a product that works. Just be aware of how runny it is.

One other important fact is that children under 6 months of age shouldn't use it, unless you check with a doctor.
