GeoAir High Flyin Airport: Review of My Son's 2008 Christmas Gift

Hobart
This past year we purchased the GeoTrax Grand Central Station for our son's 2nd birthday. This product was a great success. He loves it and still plays with it now (6 months later). So, for Christmas, we decided to go with with GeoAir High Flyin Airport.. The airport retails for about $45, which can be a bit pricey for a 2-year-old. If you keep your eyes out, you might be able to find a good deal at some of the online retailers such as Amazon.com. In addition to the basic airport, we also purchased the Blast through Barn expansion set. This set features additional GeoAir track and a barn that the airplane will fly through. The Blast Through Barn retails for $22.00.

For the high flyin airport and the blast through barn, we've been overly happy with the product. The materials are high quality and won't break while either assembling or playing with the airport. Assembly was simple. The pieces snap together without the use of tools. The only tool you'll need is the phillips screwdriver to put in the batteries (6-AAA batteries). The other nice feature about the airport and the barn is that it integrates with the GeoTrax train sets as well. The barn features train tracks as the base so that you can work it directly into your GeoTrax set(s) as well. The airport also features a single segment of track and a train platform that you can integrate to your GeoTrax set(s).

The only con that I've seen with this set is that sometimes the toy remote doesn't register with the plane. This is only on some occassions and it could be due to range or not properly aiming the controller. It appears tha tthe controller uses IR technology to send the start/stop signals to the airplane. I've seen my son pressing the start button over and over again and the plane won't start going. A second later, he'll push it and off it goes. This really isn't anything to worry about.

Overall, this is a great toy that I would recommend to kids of many different ages. I hope to see Fisher-Price continue to market these sets and expand on both the GeoTrax and the GeoAir line of products. These are great and my kids love them.
