Fresh off his 14th HBO solo stand-up special, George Carlin is heading across the country to bring his insightful and often dark brand of comedy to thousands of fans. On April 11, 2008, the George Carlin tour will be stopping in Houston, Texas at the Verizon Wireless Theater. The sure to be sold out show beings at 8:00 P.M.

George Carlin recently wowed fans with his 14th original HBO stand-up special, It's Bad For Ya. The show included many of the classic Carlin themes such as child worship, old age, death, religion, and American politics. For fans of Carlin, it was refreshing to see that he had not missed a beat. His comedy is still sharp and causes the audience to think while they laugh.

In 2007, George Carlin celebrated his 50th year in show business. He released a comprehensive DVD set entitled All My Stuff that included 12 of his HBO stand-up specials as well as interviews and other bonus features.

In addition to his numerous HBO specials, George Carlin has also had a successful career as an author. His best sellers include Brain Droppings, Napalm and Silly Putty, and When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops? The books are in the same vein as much of Carlin's stand up work. In fact, they often read like they could be a transcript for a stand-up routine.

The Grammy's have even taken notice of George Carlin's amazing career. He has won a Grammy for 4 albums including FM & AM, Jammin' in New York, Brain Droppings, and Napalm & Silly Putty. Carlin has a solid resume for sure, but his accomplishments do not stop here.

Movie buffs recognize Carlin for his work in a variety of movies. Most notably, his role of Rufus in the Bill and Ted series catapulted even further into the American mainstream. Since then he has appeared in several more movies including the following: Dogma, Jersey Girl, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Scary Movie 3, and Cars.

When the George Carlin tour stops in Houston, fans can expect another tremendous performance from Mr. Carlin. Much of it will probably mirror his recent HBO special, but the beauty of his work is that it never tires. I , for one, cannot wait to see George Carlin in Houston.
