Taking a fall drive is another great way to enjoy autumn down south. Georgia has so many winding country roads full of huge trees. Leaves fall and the cinnamon crispness of dried leaves is dense in the air. Try a trip down Chattahoochee River Road in Helen, Georgia. The fall colors show best in the last week of October. Tallulah River Road in Tate City is a lovely stretch of road with an unbelievable mountain view.
Georgia's hot summer temperatures and warmer winters makes its fall unmistakably rich in golds, reds and deep greens. For late autumn travel its a journey worth taking.
