Georgia Fishing Licenses: Requirements & Purchasing

Support GA Fishing: It Pays to Get Licensed

Amy Barnes
Fishing licenses are incredibly easy to obtain in Georgia. There are three simple options available, and license sales are advertised by the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources as a way for avid fishers to help support the education, research, and development programs that keep fishing opportunities open.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources website lists three quick ways to get a Georgia fishing license:
1. License Dealers - http://www.georgiawildlife.com/Assets/Documents/Licenses/LicenseAgentsList.pdf
2. By phone - Call 1-800-366-2661
3. Online - https://www4.wildlifelicense.com/ga/start.php

The online store, during a test purchase (some license options are free), it took less than three minutes to fill out the easy identification form, select the license options, and process payment. The license is immediately available for printing.

It is recommended that you print several copies of your license to avoid having to pay for a replacement.
