There are both permanent and changing exhibits at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame that include music, video, memorabilia, instruments and costumes. The Music Factory Children's Wing (primarily for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade) offers interactive exhibits and hands-on activities like the giant radio and the big band. Tune Town is a must see. The 12,000 square foot Tune Town is designed like a small town and each building is dedicated to a particular type of music complete with listening stations. The Coca Cola Drugstore (after all you are in Georgia, Coke's home turf) let's you experience the era of diner music. Remember the Fonz? The Gretsch Theater let's the audience select three music videos from a variety of styles and shake that thing right along with the video. The name Gospel Chapel typifies the music it offers. Ragtime and jazz can be found at the Jazz and Swing Club. And don't miss the work of Ray Charles in the Rhythm & Blues Revue. What Georgia town would be complete with its very own Skillet Licker Café, where country, blue grass, traditional and folk tunes kick it up.
There are periodic concerts and special events, and the annual Georgia Music Hall Of Fame Awards. Check the website for events, concerts and discount coupons. The Georgia Music Hall of Fame also offers educational programs that include guided and specialty tours by reservation, lectures and workshops. The facility has a Music store offering CDs, videos, books, apparel and educational items.
