Georgia Polls: Barack Obama, John McCain in a Tie

McCain and Obama Fight Over a Important State for This Years Election

Sarah P
A poll put out by A New Insider Advantage/Poll Position shows that McCain thus far is leading only by a single point. Obama is very close behind him. Which makes it hard to say which one is truly leading the election. Nader isn't listed in the polls. They are saying that Georgia is going to play an important role this year. As we all know that they have lots of African-American voters in the state, but they also have a lot of younger voters and have a good number of Independents which thus far have not failed Obama. All three have been a key for Obama in the primaries and most likely will in the next phase of the election. But they have a history of being "red" state more less of, meaning that they vote Republican often. Though plenty of people say that Obama can swing some red states, like Georgia.

An article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has stated that it will be a competitive state for this up and coming election. They also say that it could likely swing to the blue side, because of Obama. Could this year be a repeat of 1992 election, when Bill Clinton beat George H.W Bush in Georgia? Perhaps so, only time can tell us if that will happen. Though the AJC has stated that in polls they know about, McCain so far is always in the lead. But that doesn't keep Obama from trying, a ad in Georgia and other states have been aired for Obama. And McCain has not stated that they feel good about where they stand in the state of Georgia.

Obama has also paid all of his staffer in the state of Georgia, something McCain has yet to do(if he does). Though Obama doesn't have a strong point with the rule, blue-collar white voters. McCain has a stronger ranking with them. Yet Obama has more money to spend than McCain does. So with more money, comes more resources, and more resources comes more votes. Obama has been able to raise unbelievable amounts of campaign cash, something that hurt Clinton when she ran. Could it hurt McCain like it hurt Clinton? That is a real possibility, if it hurt Clinton when she was up against Obama, it doesn't look so hot my McCain now that he's up against Obama.

The main point is that Georgia will be a well fought battleground at least with Obama, perhaps McCain will also try to fight for this state. That remains, but thus far Obama has started his fight for Georgia in June, 5 months from November and McCain hasn't yet.

seems to be a very nasty election huh? whenever I say I asked my dad for advice on the candidates, I get very mean, or rather thoughtless statements. it's not as if I've looked at this on my own as well. Why is it that the democrat media people always seem to be able to attack the Republicans and the Republicans can't seem to fight back, no matter if they try? Seems unfair. I think people forget about free speech sometimes. I'm sort of ready for this to all be over. :)

I think eventually the Obama hype will die down and McCain will win.
