Georgia Tech Bookstores

As many graduates and students know buying books is a major expense in college. They can range from ten or twenty dollars to hundreds of dollars and can put a major dent in a students wallet. However by shopping at local bookstores and online this dent can be minimized to some extent. Georgia Tech does not have a wide variety of bookstores that are easily accessible by students. In fact their is only one other major bookstore besides Georgia Tech's main bookstore, that students frequent often.

Barnes and Nobles at Georgia Tech

Barnes and Nobles at Georgia Tech is the main campus bookstore. The lower floor is divided between books and Georgia Tech memorabilia. The books on this first floor are fiction and nonfiction books that are usually read for entertainment rather than for college courses. Next to the aisles of books can be found Georgia Tech shirts, pants, ties, glasses, mugs, and even stuffed animals. If you are looking for something Georgia Tech related this is the place to find it. On the second floor Barnes and Nobles at Georgia Tech are the technology center and the course books. Cd's and DVd's can be found in the technology center. Also, students can find ipod accessories and computer accessories. On the other side of the second floor are the books for courses at Georgia Tech. These are organized alphabetically and there are employees their to help students find the textbooks they need. Also, students usually receive a free t-shirt with their purchases. Barnes and Nobles at Georgia Tech is located in Technology Square on the corner of 5th Street and Spring Street.

Engineer's Bookstore

Engineer's Bookstore is the other main bookstore near Georgia Tech. It is not as large as Barnes and Nobles at Georgia Tech however many students find it has cheaper prices and a friendlier staff. At first glimpse this bookstore seems unpromising. It is located on the outskirts of Georgia Tech's campus and does not look very appealing. Do not let this fool you. The Engineer's Bookstore offers a wide variety of books for all topics. On the top floor can be found books organized into sections based upon majors. These books are not necessarily for courses but rather for personal research and entertainment. In the basement of Engineer's Bookstore are racks of books required by courses. The staff here is extremely helpful and friendly and make finding your books quick and easy. They also give a free t-shirt with your purchase.

Save Money Buy Online

As a graduate the best advice I can give when buying books is to buy them online. Half.com and other online bookstores sell books for sometimes half the price of bookstores. Save as much money you can by buying your college textbooks online.
