In today's world, there are tons of products created to appeal to Germaphobes as well as ordinary people who would like to restrict the amount of germs they encounter. Some of these items work and some of them don't. With research showing that antibacterial soaps don't really achieve all they were touted to, Germaphobes may be feeling a bit lost and afraid. That's why when I read about the Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light at Hammacher Schlemmer, I had to take a closer look.
The Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light, sold at Hammacher Schlemmer, is the "first to use UV-C light and nanotechnology to eliminate 99.99% of E-Coli, staphylococcus, salmonella and germs that cause the flu and the common cold." This handy germ destroying light is "cell-phone-sized" and small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, briefcase or purse making it very easy to carry with you wherever you travel.
Simply follow the directions for operating the Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light and within 10 seconds, disinfection of your chosen area is complete. The internal timer takes the guesswork out of utilization by signaling when sanitization of the area is finished. All of this is accomplished with the same technology hospitals use to sanitize surgical instruments. The Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light is simple to use and costs about $80.
I really think there are a great many possible uses for the Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light. I can see this Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light being used in countries who suffer from frequent outbreaks of E-Coli, staphylococcus and salmonella. If the Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light could be used on food, imagine the possibilities!
I was watching the Oprah show the other day and an expert on germs said that many Americans use their vacuum cleaners in the kitchen to clean up food messes. Doing this often contaminates the vacuum cleaner with salmonella and other germs. These germs would be released over and over again with every use of the vacuum cleaner; causing the family to sicken each time. The Handheld Germ-Eliminating Light should do a fine job of eliminating those germs permanently.
Though many think Germaphobes would be better off seeing a psychologist rather than buying a new gadget, I, personally, don't see a reason not to give this gadget a chance. It's compact. It works. The only thing it can really hurt is the germs. Right?
