Black Friday and Christmas Super Gift Deals Come Early This Year

M. Kayo
Holiday gift ideas just came early for 2009 as Black Friday begins 2-3 weeks sooner this year. It's easier than ever this year to get a great deal on a great gift! Black Friday is so named due the fact that most retailers get out of the red into the "black", making the year for most retailers. Best Buy had an Acer laptop computer for just $250 last week. Here are some deals I found just today: A Panasonic Viera 50 inch Plasma Flat Panel HDTV for $669.00. Dell Inspiron Notebook Computer for $279.00. There are some great deals out there - but you have to be quick.

Follow these easy steps and get some great deals for those on your 2009 Holiday Gift Shopping List:

Make a list because if you don't, you will literally be overwhelmed with all the stuff available out there.

Log onto your computer, open Google and enter the words "Black Friday ads". An extensive list of retailer sites and private sites will come up. Start with the ones closest to the top.

When you get to the Black Friday website of your choice, simply look for the search box and enter the type of gift you're looking for. For example, type in the words "42 inch LCD HDTV." If there is no search function on the site, look through the list of product categories - in the case of the HDTV, you would look in the "electronics" section.

Shop around and compare. Don't be fooled, just because it's a Black Friday deal does not necessarily mean it's the best deal.

Negotiate your shipping. Most sites will offer free shipping on some internet orders. It never hurts to ask.
Be aware that some items are price leaders, items that are few in number and impossibly cheap. These are designed to get you into the store. If you see something on a website and it's not available online, call the nearest store and have them hold it for you.

Check back on a regular basis. Some sites change their offers hourly. Bookmark the sites you are looking at and check back every so often. Who knows, you may just get that top holiday gift for 2009.

Tips & Warnings

• Be patient, there's a lot of stuff out there

• Be aware that things may not be as they appear - check it out before you buy.

• Be aware of credit card fraud and identity theft. I use a single credit card specifically set aside for internet purchases. This card has a low credit limit so if someone does access it, they won't get much. Most credit cards are insure for theft, loss, and unauthorized purchases, Check with your bank or card issuer.

Hey - Have a Great and Joyful Holiday Season with those you love! Happy Holidays!
