Get Celebrity Treatment at an Affordable Price at the Hampton Inn Majestic, Chicago Theatre District
An Option to Check Out in Downtown Chicago
Located in the most famous city in Illinois and one of the most popular getaway spots in the country, this Hampton Inn is deserving of the theatre tag on its name. It's right next door to the Bank of America Theatre (once the Majestic Theatre, a landmark that dates back to 1906). It's a few blocks of the Cadillac Place Theatre and the Ford Center for Performing Arts. Additional Chicago attractions, like Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago, are also within walking distance.
The staff at this Hampton Inn was friendly and helpful, and supplied warm cookies at check-in (more of a Doubletree trademark, but no one was complaining). The Rooms were a nice size with a modern décor and included 32" flat screen televisions. The bathroom was modern, though the sink and tub were pretty small. Room service is available from Chicago's popular Italian Village Restaurant.
The room rates are reasonable at this hotel in comparison to other accommodations in the city, especially when you consider the inclusion of the Hampton Inn breakfast. It is available in a bag to go, but if you have time stick around and enjoy the waffles, eggs, muffins, cereal, yogurt and fruit. The other advantage of this hotel over many others in downtown Chicago is the free internet.
The only negative at the Hampton Inn Majestic Theatre District was the $42 parking charge, which required a wait to be parked and a wait to pick up your car. Check the internet for better parking specials in Chicago before you arrive. There are a number of garages nearby and the hotel is also within a few blocks of train and bus transportation. For those coming from further away, there is a reasonable (about $20 per person) shuttle service available from O'Hare International Airport.
The Hampton Inn Majestic Theatre is a good choice for business or pleasure in that area of Chicago. The hotel offers quite a few packages for theatre and shopping. Visit their website for details or call 312-332-5052.
