Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary

Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, about 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram, capital of Kerala in India, is spread in the picturesque Western Ghats. The place is so alluring with for its dam, thick forest areas, eucalyptus plantations, crystal clear streams and rocky terrains. Peppara is an idle place for adventure expeditions and one cannot miss the place when in Kerala.

Spread over an area of 53 sq. km. on the Western Ghats, you can come across mammalian fauna. You can also look at the elephants, sambar, leopard, lion-tailed macaque and cormorant, which are commonly seen here. The place has emerged as a big attraction to wildlife enthusiasts and ornithologists.

Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Repository of some of the rarest medicinal herbs, the Neyyar wild life sanctuary is a thrilling picnic spot. You can go for boating in the blue waters of the lake formed by the dam across the Neyyar River.

A habitat of over a hundred rare species of fauna including elephants, wild buffaloes, wild boar, porcupines, tigers and a variety of snakes, this is a place worth visiting. There is also a crocodile breeding centre and a lion safari park.
