Get Computer Your Computer to Perform Better

Computers can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. There are so many conveniences computers offer. You can get the weather, type a paper or manage your finances without ever leaving your house. You could also do schoolwork or take classes on your computer. All this multitasking can take a toll on your computer's overall performance and cause it to freeze and crash. Here are a few ways to optimize your computer's performance and get the most of it. The first problem is space. Your computer requires a lot of it.

Even small files like picture and songs add up over time. One of the best things to do is to add another hard drive for extra storage. There are internal hard drives that you have to manually install by opening the computer and attaching it to a wire correctly. This will add more free space to your computer and make it run more smoothly because when more space is available, The computer defragments easier, which is another necessary maintenance ritual. Regular defragmenting arranges the files in a way that allows the computer to process better. If your computer has plenty of free space, but it isn't running as well as it should, the next step would be to install some more RAM or random access memory. RAM is what's used to perform processes on the computer so the more programs running, the less RAM available. Since older computers generally ran fewer programs, there wasn't much need for any more than 128mb ram (normally two 64mb sticks) but now since newer programs and operating systems require more RAM to perform, newer computers come with more RAM.

Newer in older computers are what case freezing and crashes because there is not enough RAM to run that many programs. Thankfully, larger RAM sticks are easy to find and are very affordable. The different types of ram used are DDR, DDR2 and SD, and some older computers use PC133. PC133 RAM sticks come in sizes up to 512mb and DDR, DDR2 and SD can be as big as 2gb. Older computers could potentially have up to 1gb of RAM which is ideal for newer programs. This could make your computer perform much faster and lessen the amount of crashes. In this essay, I have gone over a few ways to improve performance on your computer. These steps are necessary extending the life of your computer and reduce the need to buy a new computer for simple problems like crashes. Knowing how to fix a problem can save money, which is a precious commodity in a failing economy.

may want to mention that after 5-6 years its not really worth putting any more money into the computer. your better off just getting a new one. 3-4 years is a good time to upgrade
