Get Free Products to Review on Your Parents Blog

Are you a parent? Do you have a blog? (Or, would you consider starting a blog?) If so, then you should know that you can get free products for yourself and your children, just by agreeing to review them on your blog!

When I first noticed other bloggers reviewing products on their blogs, I wanted to participate in that! But I had a really hard time figuring out how to go about getting free things sent to me. Now that I know about a few websites that will send you free products to blog about, I thought I'd at least make it a little easier for other people to get involved!

However, becoming a reviewer isn't as simple as it sounds. Some of the sites only let you review products if you have an established blog with a lot of daily hits on it. Others give away only a handful of each product, randomly choosing bloggers to send them to. Deciding to review products does not mean you are going to get every product, at least not right away! But you'll definitely get a few freebies... and trying new things is a lot of fun!

Here's a few sites to get you started.

The Parent Bloggers Network : They select bloggers to participate in reviews, and you'll have to put in an application with some links to your best blog entries. However, they also do regular Blog Blasts, which any blogger can participate in to win prizes and products!

Connecting Moms: This is a site where any parent bloggers can sign up to write reviews. Whenever they have a product to be reviewed, they'll put out an announcement, and bloggers go to the site to sign up. However, not everyone who signs up gets a product. Your chances of getting products are better if you fill out your profile on the site, and comment on the products you sign up to review. If you do get a product to review (and the chances are good that you will) be sure to blog about it, and then comment again with a link to your blog entry about the product. Then you'll establish yourself as a dependable reviewer!

Mom Central: Sign up to let them know you want to test products for companies, and/or participate in "blog tours." A blog tour basically means that a whole lot of people will receive a product and write about it in their blogs.

Family Review Network: Their website says they're not taking new reviewers as of today (01/22/09) but you can check back to see if this changes!

These are the best ones to get started with. As you begin writing more and more reviews, and get more people to read your blog, companies may actually come to you and ask to send you samples of their products!

In fact, once you get established, you may want to approach places, such as local businesses that cater to parents and children, and tell them that you are a blogger. Offer to review their business in exchange for a free or discounted product!
