Remember that you only need to fall 65 feet without dying to get the Going Down achievement, judging how high you are is the key to earning this achievement without dying or using slowing effects.
If you are a mage, fall from a high distance and just before you hit the ground, use ice block.
By using ice block before you hit the ground you will avoid taking damage and earn the achievement, this may take a couple tries. If you remove all your gear before you attempt this, you can get the Going Down achievement risk free. As a holy priest, fall from on high and don't worry; once you hit the ground you will turn into a Spirit of Redemption and earn the Going Down achievement.
Paladins can use blessing of protection or divine shield to avoid damage and earn the achievement. Druids in cat form and rogues have a passive ability that allows them to take less damage from falls. Rogues can also use the minor glyph of Safe Fall for extra survivability. Warlocks can use the sacrifice ability of their void walker to avoid taking damage on impact from the fall.
For all other classes, this is going to be tougher because you don't have a damage shielding spell but earning the Going Down achievement is doable! First make sure that you are at full health and you may want to use a flask of petrifaction, and then jump from any of these places which are just the right height to earn the achievement without dying:
1. The Scryer Elevator in Shattrath
2. The Jump-a-tron in Nagrand, cancel parachute buff
3. The Zeppelin Tower near Undercity, walk off the Gromgol platform
4. Lumbermill in Arathi Basin
5. Middle Tier of Wyrmrest Temple
6. Thunderbluff, southern lifts
7. Falthrien Academy, Blood Elf starting area
8. Shadowglen, fall off Aldrassil
9. Flightmaster, Sons of Hodir in Dun Niffelem
10. Lion Statue in Stormwind harbor
11. Undercity, Fall from the Sewer Pipe
12. Thousand Needles, Elevator
The Going Down Achievement is one of the easiest to get in World of Warcraft, remember to stick to places that are 65 feet and fall when you have full hit points and you will get your achievement.
