Get Higher Position in Google Maps Local Search Results
Be Seen in Your Local Area Within the Google Maps Results
This is truly the basics, folks. No collegiate stuff to blow your mind with. When someone uses Google Maps to find a business, your business can be right on top of the heap. All you need to do is ask yourself "How do I rise to the top?" Hopefully, the answer is here for you.
First, Google maps results are displayed in a distinct order. AdSense PPC ads are first. The local search results are displayed second. All the other natural results (called "organic") are displayed last. What you want to do is grab as much of all three slots as you can. A combo of these is a powerhouse of customer finding ability!
NOTE: Local Maps results display in order from the town's center outward. The closer your business is to the center of town, the higher you will naturally rank in the LOCAL results.
Log into your Google account and look for the "Add new listing" button. Create your listing using your business information (business name, physical address, phone number and any other information). Once you click on the "Add your listing" button, Google will want to verify your identity with a phone call or a postcard.
Just because you've done this does mean that you get top positioning by default. This is where some old fashioned SEO (search engine optimization) is extremely helpful. This means that if your business has listings on other sites referencing the same keywords or key phrases and such, the relativity generated nabs you a naturally high ranking across the Internet.
You probably want to consider opening a Google AdSense PPC account to supplement this campaign. This third leg CAN result in you being up there on top of ALL THREE AREAS; PPC, Google local results and natural "organic" results. This is why listing on other sites is beneficial to you.
Now a little truth:
The most popular ads on any page of results are the top 5, hands down.
The Internet operates on relativity, so the more relevant your keywords are to YOUR business, the more visible your business is to the Internet community at large.
Customer reviews can, and will, help get the word out about you. Have as many articles and web page content associated with your site out there as you can.
More relevant key words = more visitors = more sales. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well, it is.
Use this combo punch in all your campaign(s). After you are listed, do these things immediately:
1. Grab top PPC position with Google AdSense.
2. List your business with Google Maps Local search. NOTE: Remember the top slots in Google Maps local results are closest to the town's center.
3. Get listed on other search sites, too. This builds relevancy and helps get you top positioning for your key words/phrases.
