1. Don't nag.
Men often view a nagging wife as a person who is trying to control them through words. Therefore, the more you talk, the less likely your husband will want to cooperate with you. Then, if he does, it will only be temporary. Do yourself a favor, save your voice and limit the amount of times you bring up spending time together. This way, when you finally do, he won't immediately go on the defensive.
2. Be open.
Get your husband to spend more time with you by being open to his suggestions. Let him pick the venue and activity. By empowering him to select the form of entertainment, he is more likely to be game. This also gives you an opportunity to find out what he enjoys. You might be surprised to see that his tastes don't just include food and sports.
3. Make plans.
Married to a man who likes everything to be decent and in order? Give him a head start on any plans you have of spending time together. He probably will resist doing things in the spur of the moment. Although you may feel this is silly, you will have a hard time changing him. Instead, as you discuss what you would like to do, give him the time, date and details of the activity. This courtesy will give him a chance to ask questions and also mark his calendar.
4. Remain calm.
As you work on getting your husband to spend more time with you, remain calm. Don't blow your cool. As your significant other changes his schedule to include more of you, there will be roadblocks. However, if you give him time, you will see him make great strides. Eventually, you will reap the rewards of your patience.
5. Show appreciation.
After your husband spends time with you, show him appreciation. Cook him a good meal. Meet him in the bedroom. Praise his good behavior. Your actions will encourage your husband to continue on the right track and give you the one-on-one time you desire.
