You can choose the general location of your seats, and if you are trying to sit near friends, you can choose the nearest, open seat. This is the best way to get tickets because you won't get scammed and it is more reliable. You can also buy tickets through another online ticket vendor; just make sure it is a popular, trustworthy site.
If all tickets are sold out at the online ticket vendors, a more risky choice is to try EBay or Craigslist. If you plan on using Craigslist, the best choice is to get the tickets from Indianapolis, because there will be many more tickets there than any other city. Make sure they have some proof that is it official.
