Get Internet Explorer to Open Up Your Favorite Pages Each Time You Open the Browser

Idalia Benavides
If you are a college student, chances are that when you log on to the internet you already know of at least 4 pages that you will be visiting. For sure you visit, your favorite search engine, your school's website, Facebook, and maybe MySpace or a gaming site perhaps. Well if you do not like to have to open up a new window/tab for each one of these every time that you open up your IE browser, then you don't have to. IE7 enables its users to start their browser with several tabs instead of just one. In this article I am going to walk you through the steps of getting this done easily and quickly.

Complete Instructions:

1. Open an Internet Explorer browser.
Note: This will not work with Firefox, Safari, or any other web browser. Only IE7 allows you to do this, so make sure you're opening IE7.

2. Look for the Tools pull down menu option, and click on Internet Options there.
Tip: If you can't find this button then you're not looking in the right place. The Tools menu can be found on the right hand side of your browser.
Note: If you cannot find the Tools menu at all, go to Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, and then look for Internet Options towards the bottom of the screen.

3. Once you have the Internet Options small window open, look under the General tab for where it says Home Page.
Note: If you would like to customize other Internet Explorer options, this is where you would do it.

4. In the text box that appears there type in all of the pages that you want to open each time that you open an IE web browser.
Note: To ensure that you don't make IE run extremely slow, don't enter more than 4 web pages. If you want to open more pages up quickly, favorite them and open them that way.

5. Once you're done typing in the URL's make sure that you hit enter after each one of them and hit Ok.
Tip: You can hit Apply if you would like to keep looking through your Internet Options.

6. Once that's done, try it out! Close your current web browser and any others that you might have open.

7. Restart Internet Explorer.
Note: If you do not like the speed at which your IE starts now, or if you would like to change the pages that open in tabs just repeat steps 1-7 and you will be able to customize it to whatever you'd like.
