When I had some pretty nice clothes that I no longer had the need for, (I actually gained too much weight and they didn't fit anymore), I wanted to donate them to Bottomless Closet located at 445 North Wells Street in the River North neighborhood of Chicago. This place amazed me because I didn't realize that when you donate your clothes, they go to under privileged women who wear them to job interviews. You have to make sure, though, that you don't donate a bunch of junky or dirty clothes, and you also have to make sure that when you do donate, the clothes are professionally dry cleaned and that they're on hangers.

It made me feel so good to donate my clothes to this organization that help women make a good impression when they go out seeking jobs and on actual job interviews. Also, if you want to donate stuff like nylon stockings or make-up, they have to be in unopened packages. They also ask that the clothing you donate be either "in style" and contemporary, or at least classically designed, meaning they don't go out of style quickly. The clothes should also be in season, so they can be ready to wear as soon as they're donated. I can't wait to volunteer with this organization because everyone there seems so friendly, the cause is great and it's a fun atmosphere.

If you want more information on how you can volunteer for Bottomless Closet, call 312-527-9664 to schedule an orientation session.
