No matter what, this is a popular show for children. There are even adults who love VeggieTales. Here is a guide to the characters in the show.
Bob the Tomato
Bob is one of the hosts and the straight man. He is smart and tries to keep the other veggies on task. He is a red tomato that gets easily irritated. Bob is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Larry the Cucumber
Larry is the other host of the show. He is not all that smart, but he is extremely creative. Many times the things he says leads Bob to start believing that it is going to be smart, but they suddenly surprise Bob and it irritates him. Larry's antics can get him into some major problems, but they hvae also saved him at times. It is also common for Larry to sing a silly song. Larry is a big green cucumber that often gets mistaken by others for a pickle. Larry is voiced by Mike Nawrocki.
Archibald Asparagus
Archibald is the veggie that runs the show. He is the business manager and he is always trying to bring some class to VeggieTales, but that usually fails with the other veggies. However, it always works for the show. He usually is not impressed with the silliness. Archibald is a tall green asparagus spear. Archibald is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Junior Asparagus
Junior Asparagus is one of the veggies that is a child. He is still learning about being responsible and about God's love. He is often frightened or does something wrong which results in a lesson. Junior is a small light green asparagus spear. Junior is voiced by Lisa Vischer.
Laura Carrot
Laura Carrot is Junior's friend. She also learns many lessons from her feelings and actions. Laura is a light orange carrot with blonde hair. Laura is voiced by Kristin Blegen.
Mr. Lunt
Mr. Lunt first appeared when singing his song "His Cheeseburger," instead of a silly song by Larry. He is a brown decorative gourd. Mr. Lunt is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Jerry and Jimmy Gourd
Jerry and Jimmy are a second comedic duo. They are not to smart which once again irritates both Archibald and Bob. Jerry is a yellow gourd and Jimmy is an orange gourd. Jerry is voiced by Mike Nawrocki. Jimmy is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Pa Grape
Pa Grape made his first appearance as a country bumpkin in "The Grapes of Wrath." He appeared with his whole family. However, Pa Grape appears mostly without his family and is a wise character. Pa Grape is a green grape. Pa Grape is voiced by Phil Vischer.
The French Peas
The French Peas tend to play roles where they are enemies or are running things behind the scenes. They are small green peas. They do not quite understand instructions perfectly. The main two peas are Jean Claude and Phillippe, who are voiced by Mike Nawrocki and Phil Vischer, respectively. They also voice the others peas, except for Christophee Pea who is voiced by Chris Olsen.
The Scallions
The Scallions play supporting roles. They are three tall green scallions that vary in width and height. They have never been given names which appears as a joke in some of the episodes. They are voiced by Phil Vischer, Mike Nawrocki, and Mike Sage.
QWERTY
QWERTY is the computer that pulls Bible verses up by memory. QWERTY only appears on the videos and DVDs and not in the episodes that run on television. The song that plays at the end when Bob asks QWERTY for a Bible verse annoys Bob, even though he started to like it. It once again became annoying to him.
Of course, each veggie plays different characters in different shows. It is common for Larry the Cucumber to have a starring role. However, this is not always the case. There are also other veggies and fruits that appear in shows. Some of them seem to appear only once and others make recurring appearances.
