Get the Look: Hayley Williams in Decode

The alternative rock band Paramore is all the rage these days. Lead singer Hayley Williams is especially on the radar. If you have heard of the move "Twilight" you have likely heard all the buzz around the song "Decode", that Paramore wrote specifically for the Twilight soundtrack. If you think Hayley Williams' look in the music video was right on target and find your self coveting her look, here is how to get it.

Outerwear

In the music video for Decode, Hayley Williams wears a basic black bomber jacket over her shirts for the better half of the video. Although you may not be able to find her exact jacket, you can mimic the one she wears as best you can by choosing a black jacket from a trendy store like HM, Forever21 or Delia's, because that is where Hayley buys most of her clothing from. When shopping around for a jacket like Hayley's, choose a jacket that is short. Ideally your black jacket will end at the top of your hips (the waistband of your jeans should be exposed). The fabric should reflect light and give off a nice sheen. Although leather and pleather are both reflective materials, you should stay away from these choices, because they will make your outfit look way more hardcore than was originally intended.

Pants

Both in real life and in the Decode music video, Hayley Williams wears super skinny jeans (also called cigarette jeans). To mimic Hayley's Decode look choose super skinny jeans in the darkest wash available. If you can manage to get your hands on skinny jeans that are completely black, that would be ideal. But if you cant find skinny jeans that are completely black, that's okay. Just go for an extra dark wash. Often the darkest wash will be pretty close to black.

Headwear

It's pretty obvious that Hayley Williams' hair in the Decode music video is fire engine red. If you already have bright red hair, that's great. But if you don't, don't dye your hair red. You will look like a poseur if you dye your hair bright red right after the band became so popular. Moving on to the headwear... In the video Hayley wears a knit hat in deep purple. This type of hat is relatively easy to find at urban apparel stores such as Forever21, Urban Outfitters, Delia's, Alloy and Target.
