Whitney Port may be from the Beverly Hills but since her recent arrival in NYC she has developed a much more put together style. If you have always been a fan of Whitney Port's style for years (like I have), you know that her usual style is pretty girly and preppy. But now that Whitney Port has moved to NYC she has developed a chic business casual style that still manages to reveal a glimpse of her California girl style. Here's how to get Whitney Port's New York look.

Choose One Bold Piece

When Whitney Port was a regular on the television series "The Hills", her outfits would be flamboyant and bursting with life and color. But now since hitting the streets of New York she has quickly caught on to the city style. Whitney has toned down her elaborate outfits and taken to just including one small pop of color in her outfits. For example if Whitney is wearing a business casual outfit she will include color in her accessories such as her handbag, scarf, jewelry or tights. Although sometimes Whitney chooses to wear a larger statement piece such as a sheer floral shirt paired down with a black skirt, black tights, black handbag and shoes. If you want to master Whitney Port's style, put lots of thought into how exactly you are incorporating color into your outfits.

Dark Colors are Your Friends

Since New York is considered to be both the fashion capital of the county and the financial capital, it only makes sense that the ideal style would be able to strike a chord between both the fashion world and the business world, that's why the main style in New York City is business casual. Business casual pretty much consists of wearing classic pieces and putting your own spin on it to make it your own. Whitney Port seems to have managed this style as soon as she stepped off of that plane in JFK airport. To get Whitney Port's version of business casual, simply wear dresses and skirts. Unless Whitney is working out, she is rarely ever seen in pants. Of course the dresses and skirts she wears are surely appropriate for the work place, but have been jazzed up a bit with those pops of color that we have previously mentioned.
