Invite Family and Friends to Your Wedding in a Hot Air Balloon

Sondra C
Can you envision anything more thrilling or romantic than sharing your wedding vows high in the sky-as you kiss and become husband and wife. Getting Married in a Hot Air Balloon is expensive but it is the ultimate wedding for those that love the free feeling of the great outdoors and the wide open spaces.

Things You Need

Wedding dress {optional}
Casual outfit
Invitations
Caterer
Minister
Marriage License

How to Find a Hot Air Balloon

Search the Internet for "Hot Air Balloons" in the state where you live. Find out what they have to offer and how much you will have to pay. Call up a few Hot Air Balloon companies and compare costs and what they have to offer for a wedding.

Create a Romantic Setting

If you prefer a really romantic setting, consider getting married high up in the mountains of another state if your state is flat. It is your day, and it happens only once in a lifetime, so make it as special as you want, or can afford, and Get Married in a Hot Air Balloon.

Have a Wedding Breakfast at Dawn

Flights usually go up early in the morning when the weather is more stable and less windy. Contact a caterer and ask them what they charge to setup a wedding breakfast on the grounds of the flight site. Telephone and invite immediate family and a few friends to share this important day. Using the phone is less formal than sending invitations and a wedding in a Hot Air Balloon is not a formal affair.

Share Vows as the Balloon Ascends

Decide whether you want the wedding ceremony held high in the sky while you fly or down on the ground before ascending. Get married in a Hot Air Balloon with only the minister and pilot, or invite parents and a close friend, to share you seal your vows while you get married in a Hot Air Balloon.

What Should You Wear?

It is entirely up to you. Wear a wedding gown and hold a bouquet of flowers or wear matching jeans and shirts with your soon to be husband. Be daring or romantic or be serious. It is your wedding so make it one of a kind. Your wedding can be anything that you want it to be.

Descend as Husband and Wife

 Enjoy the thrill of the flight as the hot air balloon slowly ascends higher and sways with the breeze. Know that when you start to descend once again, you will have shared your first exciting moments as husband and wife. Share a toast with a glass of champagne with your in-flight guests, while the balloon slowly descends.

Keep in Mind The Following Choices

* If you are getting married in a traditional gown and tux, you might want to change to walking shoes and jeans for comfort as you ascend. The ground might be moist or muddy.

*
 While the price might seem expensive, remember you do not have to pay for a hall or an expensive dinner and drinks if you had a traditional wedding.

*
Choose to get married while on the ground or up in the air. Either way you can invite your parents to share it with you. Take your guest out to late breakfast or early luncheon depending on the hour of the wedding.

*
This is a once in a life time romantic event. You will want to share this with your grandchildren one day. Make sure you have someone take pictures, and/or video.

* Do not sign a contract for the Hot Air Balloon wedding until you read and understand the fine print. If you are not sure, ask an attorney to check it out to make sure you get what you pay for.

*
Speak to and check out a few Hot Air Balloon companies to see what they have to offer for a wedding. Compare prices.

*
Since you will be walking on the moist grass, it would be more comfortable to wear sneakers instead of bridal shoes.

Getting married in a hot air balloon might seem expensive but by eliminating a church wedding,an open bar, a catered dinner,friends and family you have not seen in years,flowers and a DJ, it might be less expensive than you thought.
