Get More Time from Boredom

Laurie Tam
Boredom hits all of us when we least expect it, what that means is that it is a way to remind us we have something to do instead of just sitting right in front of the TV all day. I had come up with some ideas of my own and it is more helpful without TV on all day to park your butt in front of. If you would want some suggestions, consider any of these to work on.

1. Figure out how to clean out your house if you have to. You keep pushing that away and it piles up even more junk than you realize. It's time to get right on it in order to make your life easier. All of us want life to get easier and purging all of the junk out of the house definitely helps.

2. Help someone with what they need to do like clean their place up whether for money or just because you wanted to volunteer. Volunteer is a way to give back to the community as well and in the process, will make someone else happy. Being big brother and big sister is one of the ideas here to help kids along on being a better role model for them or help with making meals during the holidays.

3. Work on making yourself some money by working on the skills that you know how to do like clerical, computer, writing, data entry, accounting, phone work are some. Some of us need more money these days for bills and other such thing. Also consider selling some of the items that you don't need.

4. Make and bake stuff such as gift baskets for some sick person, new baby in the picture, scrapbooking for your own parents, friends or new arrival as another idea where it would make someone else feel so good getting something that you made from the heart.

5. Have fun with the kids if you have any or know any kids that are bored themselves that want something to do. Water slides during hot summer days. Going to the parks for the kids to get rid of their energy. Make items with the kids such as photo albums, calendar, clock, bake a cake, make a book, do journal writing, write some songs.

6. Visit somebody that you haven't seen for a while where you do some social networking with others whether you know them or not. Go out to social events if you have to where you will meet like minded people. Moms for example, for wahms, are socially deprived especially for sahms so going out to meet others will benefit by lifting each other's spirits as well as help each other in the process.

7. If bill payment are not your strong forte, get right to it where you need to use that boredom to do it before you accumulate late fee. Over time, the longer you keep doing it, the more money you will lose since it all adds up.

These should get the ball rolling on what you know you need to work on especially if you keep pushing them away for later on to do. The days when you are bored are best to work on what you need to work on. But if you are all done, work on the other suggestions that I stated on here.
