Get a Natural Boost to Your Metabolism

Pucker Up !

When feeling tired in the morning, there is a simple trick you can use to get yourself up and at em'. It isn't a diet pill, and it isn't coffee, but its one simple thing we take for granted every day; it's water.

Water is our number one source of nutrition, because while we can't have live without the blood, the body can't go without water. Keeping your body hydrated will keep your metabolism in check, but hot water is even better.

Upon rising in the morning, heat up your water in a tea kettle as hot as you can stand it. Then, squeeze a large slice of lemon into it, then dump the whole slice in the mug. If you like lemon, you will love this. It is just like drinking a hot lemon tea, and you can make it with what you have in your home right now.

According to Dr. Leonid Macheret of Partners in Wellness Inc. in Fairfield, Ohio, this hot lemon water will not only boost your metabolism, but it will also start to help cleanse the liver. Lemon has a very astringent property to it, and that is why you will often see it in floor cleaner and kitchen cleaner. The hot lemon water will help your liver slowly start to drain, and after about a week you will begin to feel lighter, and with less digestive problems.

Drinking hot lemon water will help boost the metabolism. Drinking ice cold water will stall your metabolism when it shocks the system, so you can even have your bottled water at room temperature. That is what I do; in addition to the lemon water I drink two quarts of water a day. The water helps balance out all the vitamins and minerals I use so that the organs don't dry out.

The hot lemon water combination is very effective for those how have gall bladder problems too. If you feel you have gallstones than having some hot lemon water will help to break that up. Drink a cup of hot lemon water, and then lie on your side for about 20 minutes, in a fetal position. After a few days you will note the difference, but after a week you will feel significantly better.

There are so many natural resources at our fingertips that we can use to help us be well, but many times we don't tap into them. In the end, wouldn't hot lemon water be a little cheaper anyhow?
