Get Paid for Writing Motivational Tips for the Freelance Career Woman

Source
If you're just starting to get paid for writing as a career, you're undoubtedly excited at the opportunities ahead of you and eager to throw yourself into the game. Just like anything else, though, it takes time, organization, and commitment to make it work. Here are some 'get paid to write' tips I use as motivation, and to help prevent me from getting overwhelmed, in my budding career as a freelancer.

1. Don't let any concerns or doubts about your writing ability compared to others get in your way. You'll discover that better and worse writers who are making more money will always be on the horizon and in the background. You need to concentrate on you and your 'get paid to write' career.

2. The joys of staying home and getting paid for writing is a delight to imagine, but it can also be a problem by... keeping yourself isolated eventually gets boring and makes your writing stale. Go out and mingle sometime-- people can help spark some new ideas that'll get you re-energized, and it's a great way to promote your writing business.

3. Are you waiting for perfection? Some people can spend too much time worrying about getting their writing perfect, only to never even submit anything. Yes, you want to edit and proofread over your work, but if you want to make money with a 'get paid for writing' career you'll have to get over your wish to make everything perfect and get your work out there. Submit something soon... today, tomorrow, or the next day.

4. How do you manage your time as a 'get paid to write' career woman? If you're the type who tends to work too long or too hard, all of that work and no play or rest will stifle your energy and creativity. Don't make yourself miserable-- wanting to avoid that is probably at least part of what made you forgo a traditional job in the first place. Give yourself a small break every 2 hours and take a day or two off during the week. Then you can get back to writing, fresh and ready to roll.

5. If you have a bigger project you have to tackle, then break it down into smaller parts. For example, break down a book into chapters and treat those chapters like longer articles. The task at hand will be easier to manage and make your writing flow better.

6. Using a timer when you're working is a great aid for when you want to prevent dawdling too much on one piece of writing. Set the timer for a certain amount a time (how much/little is up to you) and for that time, just write. Think of it as a pre-deadline.

7. Looking for an assignment? Thanks to Internet growth, plenty of places exist where people will be perfectly willing to accept you on a part-time basis. One place you can start is browsing through your area on craigslist.org (look through the "jobs" section).

8. Are you really serious about your 'get paid for writing' career? Make a commitment and stick to it. Do something even on the days you don't feel like writing. Make your career a priority, no matter what you have to change about your habits to do it.
