Get Revenge This Holiday Season: A Holiday Gift Giving Idea for All of These Miserable People in Your Life

Fun with Giftcards

Stacy Grady

Still wondering what to get that extra special someone this holiday season? Ex wife, greedy boss, cheating boyfriend? How about that considerate neighbor next door? You know, the one who leaves his pile of snow in front of your house. Maybe you would like to delight that crabby school secretary or the car salesman that sold you a lemon.

When it is time to reward the bad boys and girls on Santa's list, nothing say's Happy Holiday's like an empty gift card. That's right, remember when your mother told you "the best things in life are free?" Well take it from Mom!

Go to the place of your choice and pick out a gift card. Any old gift card will do. After all looks don't matter, it's what's inside that counts. Put the amount of your choice on the gift card and spend everything on it but a dollar or two

Now, I know we all like to shop for clothing and other goodies, but the best gift cards come from restaurant's and the places that offer special services. After all, clothing can go back, but a half eaten meal; well that's a different story. Maybe your ex wife would enjoy a trip to the salon. Heaven knows, she could use a makeover. She will be thrilled to look lovely for that new man in her life. Even if it is at your expense. Imagine the expression on her face when the cashier tells her that her gift card balance is $1.00.

Save the shopping sprees for those extra special friends. You know the boss who goes on monthly cruises and weekly vacations with your bonus money. After all we all know that he/she will not be hungry for gifts this year. Perhaps, he will enjoy a gift card from every mans favorite toy store, Best Buy. He could spend hours walking around this store. The disappointment he will face at the checkout counter could be crushing.

Shopping Card 101

1. Your gift card should not exceed $100. Anything larger then this may cause suspicion. This could ruin all the fun
.
2. Make sure you have the cashier clearly write the amount on the card. We wouldn't want the receiver to make a balance inquiry.

3. Use discretion when signing your name. You can always play the peace card with your ex husband. After all who cares if he sends you hate mail.

4.Never, ever sign a gift card sent to your boss. This could seriously backfire. You could be the one singing jingle bells in the unemployment line. Instead drop this puppy on her desk 10 minutes before everyone leaves on Christmas eve. Be very careful, we wouldn't want anyone to know that you are the secret Santa. Make sure you sign the name of your least favorite co-worker on the card.

5. Finally, make sure you schedule a little extra time to hang around the place of your choice. You might get lucky and have a front row seat for the occasion. Now you must be on your best behavior and make sure you dash for the exit sign before you break out in laughter.

Don't let the guilt get the best of your, compared to what you have been through this year, this is small potatoes. Enjoy, and remember good things come in small packages.
