Get Rich - Give Your Heart Away

As I walked up to the parking meter, I was glad to see I had not stayed too long; in fact I had two minutes left, whew!

Reaching in my pocket for car keys, my hand found an emptiness. No keys. OH MY GOSH (or something like that) burst from my lips since I had no idea where those keys were sitting and I had to be downtown in minutes. I stood dumbfounded and trying to remember where I'd been.

Suddenly, a tap on my shoulder turned me around to face a little old lady using a walker. She was breathing heavily as she told me that she had been hurrying as fast as she could to bring me my keys. She had seen me drop the keys and had followed me for a few blocks because she could not shout loud enough to be heard.

This lady was demonstrating "heart" in action. She had discovered the benefits of giving your heart away.

Many of us ignore or suppress these opportunities to give our hearts away. Everyday. And it's common among those who try so hard in other ways to make their businesses grow. Yet giving your heart away can be the beacon that draws colleagues and customers to your business efforts better than light draws a moth. How you handle your heart will decide whether you keep demons there or gifts for others. And you will keep something in your heart --- is it worth giving away? Would anyone want what you keep in your heart?

As a result of repeated "hurts", we often shut off our hearts from exposure to any more pain. We build a wall for safety and add more work to feel better. We stay away from anything that might hurt again and as a result make ourselves poorer in spirit. This poor spirit spills over into our business life and brings poor performance along. This poorness encourages us to believe that someone else knows what we are worth better than we do. And that is not good for our financial future.

The lack of heart giving shows up in many aspects of your life, particularly your business. For instance, when you begin a business, you show your heart to all the world because you believe so passionately in the effort. Here you are giving your heart away so that you may receive business approval, and that is a good thing. Half hearted start-ups, even if it's only an idea, rarely make a success. It takes your full heart to make it go.

You need "alligator skin" for this effort according to some folks.

Here's a better way:

Make a give or take plan. This means that anything you plan to give, you would also accept if it was given to you. The "give" is the same as the "take". Giving your heart in this way provides enormous energy to the transaction. Both sides are happy and it becomes a win-win deal. In other words, invest your heart in relationships; invest your heart in your business and invest your heart in yourself. The demons will vanish.

As you continually give your heart away, you will continually receive benefits that are much greater than you expected. Real satisfaction and prosperity come with a deep feeling of quiet and happiness bursting from the giving. Give away your heart and watch the huge returns that come to your life and business.

Take these actions for one day. Then a week. Then a month.
