Now that Halloween is over you probably have a bunch of leftover Halloween candy to get rid of someway. You could throw away the leftover Halloween candy away but that seems wasteful and is like throwing money away. Another way to get rid of the leftover Halloween candy is to eat it all. Most of us would rather not add several extra inches and pounds this close to Christmas when more treats and goodies are sure to come. So if those two ways to get rid of all of your leftover Halloween candy are not appealing to you just try some of the ideas below.

Take all of your leftover Halloween candy into work with you. There are a few ways to get rid of the extra Halloween candy at your place of work. You can make up a treat bag for every one at work; it may soften up some of your coworkers. Another way to get rid of the leftover Halloween candy at work is to simply place it in a candy bowl and either put it on your desk or in a break room.

If you have preschoolers at home they can help you get rid of extra leftover Halloween candy. No they are not going to eat all the candy leftovers, but they can play with them. You can teach your preschooler counting, colors and sorting with the extra candies. Have the children sort the candy into piles of the same kind and then into the same colors. Then you can have them count each pile that they have sorted. You may have seen the Cheerios and M&M's counting books and you can replicate them at home and teach your child to count. You can use any of the leftover Halloween candy that is small and round to have them count out certain numbers for you.

Put your leftover Halloween candy in a bowl and place it on your front porch or out by your mailbox. If you add a sign that reads 'FREE' that extra candy will be sure to disappear. Neighborhood children will take a few here and there and maybe delivery people will also snag a few of your leftover Halloween candy.

You can also use your leftover Halloween candy to decorate for Thanksgiving the next big Holiday. If you have candy pumpkins or candy corn they can be sprinkled on the table as a Thanksgiving decoration. Many of the special leftover Halloween candies were in fall colored wrappers and you can set out a bowl of those on a table or with the Thanksgiving desserts.

All you need is a little creativity and the leftover Halloween candy will make its way out your door. If you use some of the ideas listed here eventually all the leftover Halloween candy will disappear and you will not have to worry about it anymore.

Great ideas, Marie! For as much as my children love Halloween, they eat the candy the first night or two, and then it sits...I like to give mine away!
