Get Rid of Your Mom Body

Exercise with or Without Baby

Let's face it. After having children, your body will never be the same as it was before you had kids. Be positive about this. Your bra size may be a little bigger and you finally have a butt. Now all you have to do is get that butt in shape. Here are some exercises for moms to do at home or at the gym, with or without baby.

Walking is great exercise and it relieves stress. Take it from another mom, you will need the stress relief. The great thing about walking is you can do this exercise with or without baby. It is a cardiovascular exercise that will tone your muscles and burn excess fat. Even if you want to burn off a few calories so you can eat that extra serving of lasagna, walking is a great way to do it.

Sit-ups/crunches are a necessity after having a child. If you cannot do more than five sit-ups, do not give up. If you want your stomach back in shape, you will have to do sit-ups. The good news about sit-ups is you can do them in the privacy of your own home. If you cannot do sit-ups from the floor, try on the bed. You will still be working those stomach muscles regardless of where you do them. Try to increase the amount of your sit-ups weekly.

As a new parent, there are a couple of toning exercises you will want to do. Doing squats is great practice for all the bending and cleaning you will be doing, and picking up after your child. You will also want to tone your arm muscles. Your child is going to want to be held and having the strength to pick him or her up is a huge plus.

If you are a busy mom with a toddler, one of the best exercises that ever existed is dancing. You can watch television with your toddler and instead of sitting down, join in on the dances and other exercises. The Wiggles have some great movements as well as the shows on Nick Jr. like Yo Gabba Gabba. Once you move around for half an hour or so, you will feel like you had an aerobic workout without the gym. Your toddler can even exercise with you.

When looking for an exercise routine, look no farther than your toddler. Toddlers love to be chased. If you have no where to run after your little one, take him or her to the park. A good run with your child will have both of you wanting a nap. This is great exercise, it is free, and best of all you can spend time with your child.

Any exercise will help mom feel better and be able to relax. If mom can take some time to exercise she will be happier and less stressed. These exercises are a good place to start for mom to get her body back in shape and relieve that stress.
