We have all had days when our clothes don't fit right. Whether it be from buying clothes that are too small for us or we have a few extra pounds to lose. The unflattering appearance of this extra bulge hanging from our clothes is also referred to as "muffin tops."

To put it simply "muffin tops" is extra weight around our waistlines which hangs and sometimes excessively over our pants. It is usually more pronounced around our lateral sides. This is an unflattering look and a clear sign that you definitely need to lose weight.

There is common myths that you can do a few exercises to remove weight from the problem area. This is not true. There is not one exercise that will help you lose weight from one area and not the other. The only way to get rid of excess weight is by doing cardiovascular activities. This will burn calories and remove weight from your entire body. If you want too "tone" a specific area, then certain exercise will work, but if its extra weight which you are carrying around your waistline, then you have too do cardiovascular exercise at least three times a week for sessions of 30 minutes. You also have to watch what you are eating. Keeping an eye on your fat intake and consistent exercise will help you lose your "muffin tops" .

Examples of easy cardiovascular exercises include walking, running, stationary bike etc. Walking can be preformed anywhere. It is the easiest, safest and most convenient method of cardiovascular exercise. You don't have to have access to a gym or club in order too lose weight. That is a poor excuse not too exercise. When walking, it can't be a gentle stroll though, you have to walk hard and pump your arms. The extra weight didn't get there overnight, therefore you won't lose it overnight. It takes time and patience.

Krista's tips and tricks:
-Wear a pair of ankle weights and walk with a light pair of weights in your hands to maximize the amount of calories which you are burning.
-Don't just weigh yourself, take measurements as well. Measure yourself just once weekly to make sure that you are keeping on track.
-Don't wear clothes that are tight. This creates the illusion that you have more weight to lose then you actually do.

Carrying extra weight around your midsection is associated with higher risks of heart disease. So not only will you be happy when you lose the weight, your heart will thank you as well.
