Get Rid of Silverfish the Organic Way!!

Be Good to Yourself, Great to the Enviornment, and Free of Pests!

Silverfish! They are GROSS! Nothing ruins a date quicker than when you and your latest hottie are sitting down, ready to watch a movie.. and a creepy-crawly sliver fish runs right over your date's leg!
Don't let this happen to you! Have a bunch of pets? (I know at this house, we do!) don't leave harmful pesticides out for them to eat!! Get rid of your silverfish organically with these five easy steps.

In steps one through three we will discuss prevention. If you already have an infestation, use these three tips to control the current population, and to make sure they never come back!! If currently you do not have a problem, check these three key areas often to make sure you never do!!

1. Get rid of the food silverfish love the most!! These items could include scratched or rough linens, loose paper, debris from cardboard or press board, or even old, rotting books. If you absolutely need to save these items, make sure you store them in sealed containers.

2. Clean up moist spots. Silverfish love to breed in warm, moist areas. Stay on top of the silverfish population by cleaning up these areas in which they breed. (under and around the sink, the laundry room and basement, or any plumbing leaks)

3. Check vents, drains, and cracks in, and around your house. Seal these areas to make sure existing silverfish can not escape your wrath, and that new silverfish do not make their way inside. If you see the presence of silverfish, or other pesky insects, take care of the problem immediately.

In Steps four and five we discuss elimination. Are you already over-run with silverfish? Prevention didn't work, or isn't working well enough? Follow these next two steps for easy and organic silverfish elimination.

4. Make your own Silverfish trap!
This may sound hard, but it really isn't too bad. Step #1. Fill a jar up with a little water. (about 1 cup will do). Step #2 put an adhesives around the outside of the jar. The Silverfish will now be able to go in, but not out. Collect as many as you can, and then flush em!

5. Orange Guard. Orange guard is an all-natural product using d-Limonene. D-Limonene is citrus oil, a natural silverfish repellent, and a fairly decent-killer.

Silverfish, Silverfish, Silverfish. They are simply awful. Good luck. Writing this has given me the creeps. Time to go clean up the moist spots.
