Get Spa Treatment in the Comfort of Your Home

Instead of spending extra money on bubble bath, shower gels, or other expensive creams, bath beads, and lotions to take a relaxing bath there are a number of household items in your home that you could use when wanting to take a calming, tranquil bath. For a warm, soothing bath that will help smooth your skin and provide a nice relaxing moment, pour a ½ cup of Arm & Hammer Baking soda into your bath water. For a milk bath, add a handful of Nestle Carnation Nonfat Dry Milk powder to your bath. Using this product will soften the skin.

For an aromatic, relaxing bubble bath add a capful of Clairol Herbal Essence Shampoo to your running bath. These next household items can be used as a moisturizer when taking a bath. Use two tablespoons of Coppertone to provide a warm moisturizing bath oil or add two tablespoons of Noxzema to your bathwater to use as a moisturizer also. Epsom Salt is known to provide a relaxing bath but adding six tablespoons of French Mustard to your bath water along with the Epsom Salt makes for a soothing, massaging bath that will help relax muscles after a stressful day.

The next household item that can be used when you bathe are panty hose. Grab a pair of Sheer Panty hose and cut off one leg from an unused pair, fill the foot part with any herb of your choice, and hang it from the bathtub faucet while running bathwater. This will provide a unique aromatic feel to your bath. You can also use the cut panty hose and stick a bar of soap inside at the knee part, tie it at both ends, and use it to wash your back.

This next household item can help you to have a nice refreshing and revitalizing spa, saving you hundreds of dollars on spa treatments. Grab a handful of coffee grounds, get into an empty bathtub, and rub the grounds all over your body. Wait about ten minutes, and then fill the tub with warm water and soak. Ziploc Freezer and Storage Bags are very helpful when taking a bath. To make a homemade water pillow, get a Ziploc freezer bag and fill it with water, sealing the bag, lay on the bag while taking a bath. If you lost the plug for the bathtub drain, fill a Ziploc storage bag with water, don't seal it, and place it over the hole. If you are unable to take a bath, you can use some Huggies Baby Wipes as a sponge bath, which will give you a quick clean and refreshing feeling.
