If you read as many books as I do, you probably already know what I do. You can take your used books to your local used book dealer for a few dollars (always less than you think). Then you can rummage through the neighborhood's old books and hope that you find something that you like. That is, if you live near a used book store. If you are looking for a better way to get rid of your old books and get new used titles, consider trading books through an online book swap. These are some of the best book swap websites online.

Paper Back Swap

This is my favorite book trade site because they let you trade books without charging you a fee. Instead, they work through a credit system: when you trade a book to someone, you receive a credit and when you get a book from someone, a credit is taken away. This way, they keep it even-stevens. In order to get books, you'll have to trade books. They specialize in paper back books, but they also have audio and text books available. Plus, they offer printable postage which will calculate the postage you will need and then print it out for you. You don't even have to go to the post office.

Title Trader

This is another great website. This free trade site lets you trade paper and hardback books as well as CDs and DVDs. Simply sign up, and list all of the books that you would like to trade. And then you have to wait for someone to show interest in them. Once someone requests a book and you give it to them, you can start requesting books. You can also buy requests if you're getting impatient, or no one is interested in the books you have to sell.

Swap Tree

Not only can you trade books, CDs, and DVDs, but you can trade video games as well. And that's pretty sweet. Plus it is just as user-friendly as Paper Back Swap. There's no need to go to the post office. You can print your postage right from home. Plus users can create profiles and communicate with one another so you can get to know other bibliophiles like yourself. And they show all of the recent trades that have taken place so you can get a better idea of what type of merchandise is available.

Zunafish

These guys charge 1$ per swap, but they're pretty popular and have lots of titles to choose from. Zunafish works a little differently from the sites above. They have DVDs, CDs, VHS, Video Games, Books, and Audiobooks but you can only trade like for like. So is you want to get DVDs, you have to trade DVDs. But, that's not a bad setup if you have a lot of DVDs to trade and don't want to get a lot of books in return. It helps make sure that everyone gets a fair shake and will continue to use the site.
