Do you own a personal website, blog, or a business site that you would like to spruce up for the holidays? Whether you're trying to generate more sales, more newsletter/feed subscriptions, or just more daily readers, the following 5 tips will help you to get your website ready to be able to do those things during the holidays.

If you are not very computer savvy and you just like entering information onto your website and not dealing with the design part of it, you may want to hire a professional to help you out. Sometimes getting a website ready for the holidays can bring a lot of advantages to you. The first advantage it will bring you and perhaps the best one is, credibility and trust from your visitors. If your visitors see that you took the time to do something with your site for the holidays, then they know you're constantly updating it with accurate and positive information for them and they are more likely to do whatever you want them to.

- Template redesign
Sometimes giving your website a whole new template makeover is the best thing you can do for it at this time of the year. If you go ahead and change things up a bit for the holidays and include some holiday colors and new designs you might just be getting more business coming in. When a website visitor sees that you constantly update and that you care about the way they view your site at this time of year, they chose to trust you more and buy your product. Try visiting a site that offers free website templates themed for the holidays and take it up.

- New banners
If you still have the same banner ads that you started with, this is the perfect time to change them. Try hiring a freelance banner designer for a day and have them design some cool interactive or animated banners to promote your holiday sale. Displaying flashy banner ads with your holiday promotions is one of the best things you can do. Once you have the code for those banners you can even distribute them around the internet to get yourself more exposure.

- Special promotions
If you don't yet have special promotions for the holidays up on your site then its time to get those going as well. If you don't want to lower your prices for the holidays you don't have to, just be creative and find a way to make your sale sound like a special promotion. Remember that the more work you put into your business, the bigger pay off you will receive.

- Newsletter
If you're going to be having a sale, promotions, or just special content that you want viewers for then, your site needs a newsletter and it needs to prepare one for delivery during November and December. If you don't yet have a big enough mailing list, it doesn't matter. Get your newsletter prepared and then send it out to as many people as you can and ask them to help promote it for a special price on a product or the like. A newsletter will allow you to connect with your customers and it will allow you to promote as much as you want, so take the opportunity!

- Take polls
The best time of the year to get feedback from your website viewers is the holiday season. For that reason, you should put polls up on the side bar asking your customers what kinds of things they would like for you to offer to them this holiday season. Once you get close to the end of November is when you should put what you got back into action. If most of your poll participants voted for a certain service, make sure that you start offering it as soon as possible, and consider adding discounts to visitors who sign up for your newsletter, who send out an email to their friends promoting your, or the like. You should always give your customers the best deals and service you can to ensure return business and word of mouth promotion.
