What you don't want to do is dive straight into intense workouts routines. The best thing to do starting out will be to take things easy. Instead of doing the normal thirty to forty-five minute workout, start off working out for 10 to 15 minutes a day. Don't push yourself too hard. Make sure your warming up and stretching before you start. If you're use to running, go for a brisk walk instead. Maybe you can do some light aerobics or lift some light weights. Consult your doctor before you do anything. Make sure that you still alternate your workouts as you would if you're going full force, then gradually increase your workouts times and intensity.
Again, it is most important for you to get the okay from your doctor first before you do anything. Every woman is different, and may be you can do more sooner. It all just depends on your body and what your doctor says. A good easy way to tone the body is doing yoga. Yoga has been around for a long time so you shouldn't be skeptical whether it works or not. Stretching is a way of toning the body and also relaxing the body at the same time. There are intense yoga routines as well as light ones. So just make sure you are not going too hard on your body too soon.
Obviously exercise and dieting go hand-in-hand. The diet part will be harder for nursing mothers because even though all new mothers need to make sure they're getting their nutrients, nursing mothers have to make sure that they are getting those certain nutrients that their baby needs and that they're not taking in something that may be harmful to their baby. Definitely consult your doctor regarding the diet. Regardless, you want to make sure that you are watching your portions, just like you would if you were dieting regularly.
After a woman has a baby it is harder for her to get her body back in shape, than would be otherwise. Her body is more sensitive than normal because it has just undergone a major change. The basics are the same as they are if you were trying to shed pounds regularly. Consistent exercise, a healthy diet, and good eating habits are equally as important. Stay persistent, set realistic goals, and you will eventually get your body back to its normal figure.
