In order to get your next new computer, you might need to do a little searching for the perfect deal.
Layaway - This is not in anyway a "new" method of catching a good sale price but I think that it has become a "forgotten" means to an end.
Kmart is a National Store Chain that still offers this payment option for their product. In the new Internet age, you don't even have to make a trek down to the store. Kmart know has an easy to use, online layaway shopping option. Simply locate the item that you are looking for and if it carries the "layaway logo", all you'd have to do is make sure to select it as one of your check out options in order to activate it. Layaway accounts are now easily manageable online and when you are ready for pick-up, you can even schedule that also. Kmart requires an initial $5 setup fee for new contracts and the payment of either $15 or 10% of the items cost (whichever is the greater of the two). Be careful however, if you change your mind about the item, there is a $10 cancellation fee that Kmart will charge you and if your payment is late, the item would be returned back into the stores purchasing stock. Make sure to set aside 25% of the original purchase price, as it is due every two weeks using this particular purchase option.
Wal-Mart items can be bought in-store and online. As we all know, this national store chain usually has drop dead low pricing on their items. I would suggest checking the shelves for sales on a regular basis. Look into applying for the credit card (the card has the benefit of a $100 cash advance, with a purchase) that they offer to its customers.
