Getting Federal and the Commonwealth of Virginia Tax Forms

CocoPem
With 2008 almost wrapped up it is time to think about the next big thing for 2009 TAX TIME and locating all the forms that go along with this process. I for one am not the type to wait to the last minute. Now that I have a family and do not have the time to run around, I see a tax professional and pay to get the job done. In the past, I used to do my taxes myself and the biggest headache was locating the forms let alone filling them out. I live in the Commonwealth of Virginia and here are some tips on how you can get your hands on these well needed documents. With being in an electronic age, you can get the federal forms via the IRS website and you can get the VA state forms via website as well. Here are the links for the two:

Now I know there are many of you out there that do not really enjoy this technology boom or just prefer doing some things the old fashioned way. For those of you who like this approach I am providing you with a list of means that you could use to get the forms needed

You can request them via phone by calling (804) 440-2541. The best part with this that you can make your requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also request the forms via mail by sending a letter to Customer Service, PO Box 1115, Richmond, VA 23218-1115. Please note this is NOT the address to file your tax return or send your tax payments to. You can also obtain your forms in person by visiting the central office or district office Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. The main office is located at 3600 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230. The district office is located at 7 Koger Center Suite 101, Norfolk, VA 23502.

This is great if you live in that area but I sure don't so here are some places in Loudoun County where you can get your forms. You can obtain the forms though the Office of the Commissioner of Revenue and there are two locations One in Leesburg 1 Harrison Street SE, 1st Floor, Leesburg, VA 20175, the other is the Sterling Office 21641 Ridgetop Cir, Suite 100, Sterling, VA 20166. Both of these offices are open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Good luck getting through Tax Season!
